Oklahoma City University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams play their home matches at Stars Field, located in the northeast tip of the university campus on NW 27th Street and Florida Avenue. The facility includes bleacher seating on the south end of the field. The largest crowd to see an OCU match is 600.
Television-quality lights were added for the 2006 season at a cost of $110,000. The first official match under the lights at Stars Field was a 0-0 draw between the OCU and USAO women on Sept. 26, 2006. The Jim Wade press box with concession stands debuted Oct. 17, 2010 in matches vs. Oklahoma Christian. The Paul and Kim Sanders ticket booth and a new scoreboard will be the latest additions to the facility.
Future projects to be completed on the field include field dugouts and locker rooms.
The Major League Soccer championship trophy came to Stars Field on Sept. 30, 2006. Stars Field played host to the 2007 NAIA Region VI men’s and women’s championships. The field opened Aug. 19, 2000 with a women’s exhibition match against Oklahoma and a men’s exhibition vs. Southern Methodist.
